Travis Hirschi and Kristin Miller bring more than 35 combined years of E&S and wholesale brokerage experience to XPT’s Utah office
April 23, 2026 — XPT Specialty, a leading wholesale broker for commercial and personal insurance, today announced that Travis Hirschi and Kristin Miller have joined the firm as Producer/Branch Manager and Underwriter, respectively, in its Salt Lake City, Utah, office. Together, they bring more than 35 years of experience in excess and surplus lines, commercial underwriting, and wholesale brokerage, deepening XPT’s ability to support retail agents across the Intermountain West region.
In their roles at XPT Specialty, Hirschi and Miller will work directly with retail agents to support the placement of hard-to-place and non-standard commercial risks across a broad range of industries and coverage types. As generalists, both are positioned to handle a wide variety of submissions, from standard E&S accounts to complex risks that fall outside the admitted market, giving agents an experienced resource for navigating today’s challenging commercial lines environment.
Hirschi brings more than 20 years of insurance experience to XPT, with a career that spans both the retail and wholesale sides of the market. He spent his first several years as a retail agent and agency owner before transitioning to the wholesale E&S space. Hirschi previously served as Regional Director for Scottish American/Novatae Risk Group, where he opened and built the Intermountain West territory, as Senior Team Leader at CRC Group and as an Underwriter/Broker at Burns & Wilcox.
“Retail agents need speed, clarity, and a wholesale partner who genuinely wants to find a home for the risk – that’s a commitment I bring to every submission, and XPT gives me the platform and the markets to uplevel that value further,” said Hirschi. “The Intermountain West is a territory I know well, and I’m eager to keep building and growing here.”
Miller joins XPT with more than 15 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, spanning commercial underwriting, E&S brokerage, and account management. A credentialed underwriting professional – holding both the Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) and Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designations – she brings a deep technical understanding in risk selection, pricing, and surplus lines. Most recently at CRC Group, her career has focused on evaluating risk, selecting appropriate carriers, and positioning accounts strategically across the marketplace.
“I’ve spent my career finding coverage solutions for risks that don’t fit the standard market,” said Miller. “It’s what I’m passionate about bringing to retail agents – and XPT’s impressive market access means I can deliver on that for an even wider range of accounts.”
“The Intermountain West region is a growing, dynamic market for XPT, and retail agents here deserve access to experienced wholesale professionals who know the area and know how to place difficult commercial risks,” said Jenny Crane, Regional EVP, XPT Specialty. “Travis and Kristin bring exactly the kind background and passion that underscore XPT’s core tenets – extensive E&S expertise, strong carrier relationships and a commitment to being true partners.”
